Hello! We hope you are well and keeping safe - it's a very strange time again isn't it - just as it looked as though the world had a handle on COVID-19, things are beginning to take a turn for the worst again. So, please do look after yourself.

As you can probably tell from the subject line, we're going to have to delay the filming of Departure again. We all decided that it's better to wait a little longer and make sure we can shoot Departure in a safe environment - we don't want to be putting any of the cast or crew in any undue danger. So, we're now looking at an early spring shoot - probably March or April 2021. Hopefully by then, the world will be a little bit safer.

We've spoken to all the cast and crew who we currently have onboard and they will all still be part of the project next year, which is wonderful as we've some great talent.

This will also give us time to look for some extra funding as we recently had the quotes in for insurance - it made our collective eyes water! We're going to look at various funding assistance schemes which will hopefully give us what we need for our admin costs.

Thanks again for being part of Departure's creation and thanks for being patient - we'll get there.

Look out for more updates and reveals in the next few weeks and months.

We hope you and your families are well and have been staying safe - it's certainly been a stressful few months.

It does now seem that we are getting some freedom of movement back - whether this is a good or bad thing, remains to be seen. However, we have decided that it's time we started planning for a shoot later this year.

The team got back together over Zoom the other night to reignite Departure. We've given ourselves a September shooting date and will be actively working toward getting everything ready for then. We also spent time at looking at all the new rules and regulations that have been put in place to make sure film shoots are safe and follow distancing rules.

As a reminder of who we have so far in the Departure team - Andrew Harmer is our excellent director. Darren Barker is the writer and producer, Kristen Brookman - who incidently has been doing brilliantly with her own short film - is a producer and Paul Anderson is also a producer.

We have the very talented Katie Sheridan and Bill Fellows as our lead actors. The brilliant Sam Thompson will be scoring the film and we have the location sorted - Malvern Town Football Club - a big thank you to Chris and Lianne Pinder for letting us shoot there.

We are now speaking to some Directors of Photography, sound technicians and are scouting for art design, make-up and wardrobe. As soon as we get them on board, we'll let you know - hopefully now we can increase these updates for you as we start picking up steam again.

In the meantime, continue to stay safe. Thank you once again for your help in getting Departure made.

The Departure Team.

Hey everyone - we hope you're doing okay?

It's certainly a strange time at the moment and it seems slightly odd to be breaking news about Departure - but we thought it might be nice for you to hear something positive - after all, without you, we wouldn't be able to make it!

We are delighted to announce that the very talented music composer, Sam Thompson, will be doing the score for Departure. You can get a feel for his music on his website. Sam recently did the music for Mark Brennan's excellent film Squall - if any of you have seen it, you'll have heard how good Sam's score is.

We can't wait to crack once this unprecidented situation has come to an end - we're slowly putting it all together - so we'll be good to go once we're allowed.

In the meantime, we hope everyone stays safe and healthy and we want to thank everyone in the NHS, shop workers, bin collectors, post people, police, fire department, carers, truck drivers and everyone else who is risking their health to keep the UK going - you are doing an exceptional job, so THANK YOU!

Departure team.

Hello everyone,

It's been a while since we've been in touch and wow, how everything has changed in the world since we last spoke. We hope you haven't been too affected by the current situation we face - just make sure you look after each other and stay safe.

It seems a tad unimportant to speak about what we've been doing in the background, but it'll make a nice escape for a couple of minutes - plus, we're using your kind donations to make this film.

We told you that we have the brilliant Katie Sheridan on board for the role of Beth, and now we can reveal who we have playing the role of Robert - the wonderful Bill Fellows (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0271499/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0).  Bill has appeared in great shows such as Broadchurch, Casualty, Downtown Abbey and This Time with Alan Partridge. He also starred in Lady Macbeth with the always excellent Florence Pugh. It's great to have Bill on board - we can't wait to work with him.

Because we've had to create a really strict budget for ourselves, our writer, Darren, has had to do a number of rewrites to allow for the budget and we've had to loose the hotel setting for something a bit different. In fact, this has actually worked out for the best as we now have it set in a local football club. Not only that, but Malvern Town FC has very kindly allowed us to film there - which is super generous of them.

That's it for now - but as soon as we start bringing on more crew, we'll let you know.

Take care out there.

Hello again.

You may have noticed that all has gone quiet on social media for the last few weeks. However, behind the scenes, it's controlled chaos. As we are £2000 off our target, we have been looking at ways to juggle the budget that you kindly all helped us get so we can put together the film.

We've been looking at an alternative venue as hiring out a hotel room to shoot in was extremely expensive. We think we have found a new location and if successful, we think it'll be visually more exciting than a hotel room, so watch this space. Darren has been busy rewriting the script with this location in mind.

We have also brought an extra Producer on board - Paul Anderson. He's come to help pull together the shoot and to help us work out how we can make the film on a limited budget. We're delighted to he's agreed to join.

The brilliant Katie Sheridan is still going to be playing the role of Beth and we're currently speaking to people about the character of Robert - so watch this space.

We'll keep you updated on progress.

Thanks again.
